Commercial Annex Restoration in the Florida Everglades
The Final Result
Adkins Building & Construction played a key construction role in the C-139 Annex Restoration Phase 2 project in Hendry County, FL; a South Florida Water Management District effort converting former citrus groves back into native Everglades wetland by restoring canals, farm beds, and natural water flow across roughly 5,000 acres. Our team built a critical flow control building along the project's main canal and a pump house to house the equipment regulating freshwater flow through the reclaimed wetlands.
This infrastructure supports the site's seepage management system, helping balance water levels while protecting the restored habitat from drought and flooding. Adkins is proud to contribute to a project that strengthens both the ecological health of the Everglades and Southern Florida's long-term water security.
