Adkins Building & Construction grew from James’s successful real estate investment company. As he completed renovation and construction projects on homes owned as investments, community members, neighbors, business associates, friends, and family recognized his expertise and sought his services. Recognizing an opportunity to serve the community’s needs, James obtained his general contractor’s license and founded Adkins Building & Construction.

This passion led him to pursue a Geographic Information Science and Cartography degree at the University of Kentucky. Upon graduating, James started his career as a surveyor for an underground utility construction company, where he gained valuable hands-on experience and insight into the industry.
