Port Manatee North Gate Expansion

Port Manatee’s operations have grown considerably in recent years, and their growth is expected to continue to grow exponentially.

This port has a significant $21.2 million worth of capital improvement projects that will either commence or finish in 2021. They include:

  • Container yard expansion: $8.07 million
  • Berth 6, 7, 8, and 10 rehabs: $3.5 million
  • Berth 4 extension: $3.08 million
  • South Gate expansion $1.9 million
  • North Gate expansion $1.7 million

Adkins Building and Construction was the selected contractor to build the North Gate Expansion. The project involved the construction of an addition to the Port’s existing north access gate. The addition adds two more access lanes by extending the existing roof structure to cover four lanes instead of the existing two. The addition matches the existing structures in building and site improvement (curb, traffic splitter islands, bollards, etc.) configuration.
